Vault Smart Locks reserves the right to restrict or deny access to the website at any time.
You agree to use this website only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
Ordering and Acceptance
Orders placed through this website are subject to acceptance by Vault Smart Locks.
An acknowledgement that we have received an order does not constitute acceptance of that order. We reserve the right to accept or reject any order for reasons including:
- Product availability;
- Errors in pricing, product information or descriptions;
- Suspected fraud or misuse;
- Delivery restrictions; or
- An inability to verify information supplied by the customer.
You are responsible for ensuring that all order details, including your name, delivery address, telephone number and email address, are complete and accurate.
Pricing and Payment
All prices are stated in Australian dollars and include GST unless otherwise stated.
Payment must be made at the time of order using an approved payment method. By authorising payment, you confirm that you are the cardholder or are otherwise authorised to use the relevant payment method.
If a pricing, product information or other website error occurs, Vault Smart Locks may cancel an affected order, correct the error or offer the customer the opportunity to proceed using the corrected information.
Shipping and Delivery
Orders are generally processed within one to two business days after payment unless the product is on backorder or a different processing period is specified.
Once an order has been dispatched, customers should generally allow up to seven business days for delivery within Australia.
Products are dispatched by tracked delivery from our Sydney warehouse.
Any delivery timeframe provided is an estimate only. Vault Smart Locks is not responsible for delays outside its reasonable control.
Vault Smart Locks is not responsible for loss, delay or failed delivery resulting from incorrect or incomplete delivery details supplied by the customer. Additional delivery charges may apply where a parcel is returned and must be dispatched again.
Product Specifications
We take reasonable steps to ensure that product details and descriptions are accurate. However, product specifications, materials, colours and finishes may vary slightly from the images or descriptions displayed on the website.
Product images are provided for reference purposes only.
Vault Smart Locks is not responsible for minor variations that do not materially affect the product’s operation, performance or intended function.
Returns and Refunds
Products may be returned in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law, our Returns Policy or with our prior written approval.
Where a product is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or otherwise fails to comply with a statutory consumer guarantee, Vault Smart Locks will provide the remedy required by law.
Please select products carefully. Fees and conditions may apply to change-of-mind returns, including where a product is incompatible with a particular door, door configuration, installation location or other unique installation requirement.
Further information is available in our Returns Policy.
Dead on Arrival Products
A product may be treated as Dead on Arrival, or “DOA”, where it is delivered with a significant fault that prevents it from operating for its intended purpose.
Customers must notify Vault Smart Locks of a suspected DOA product within 30 days of delivery and provide:
- Proof of purchase;
- A description of the fault;
- Photographs or videos reasonably requested by Vault Smart Locks; and
- The results of any reasonable troubleshooting steps requested by Vault Smart Locks.
Vault Smart Locks may require the product to be returned or otherwise assessed before confirming that it is DOA.
Where a product is confirmed to be DOA, Vault Smart Locks will provide a replacement, repair or refund, as appropriate and subject to the Australian Consumer Law.
Claims made more than 30 days after delivery will be assessed under the applicable manufacturer’s warranty and the Australian Consumer Law.
The DOA policy does not cover damage caused after delivery, incorrect installation, misuse, modification, incompatible doors or components, battery issues, environmental exposure or other causes that are not attributable to a defect existing at the time of delivery.
Warranty
Vault Smart Locks provides a limited manufacturer’s warranty on eligible products.
Unless otherwise stated on the relevant product listing or packaging:
- Standard Vault Smart Locks products include a 12-month manufacturer’s warranty; and
- Selected Signature Range products include a 24-month manufacturer’s warranty.
The applicable warranty period begins on the date of purchase.
Vault Smart Locks products are intended for normal residential use. The voluntary manufacturer’s warranty does not cover products installed or used for commercial, industrial, institutional or other non-residential purposes, including:
- Offices, retail premises, warehouses or factories;
- Hotels, motels, hostels, serviced apartments or short-term accommodation;
- Apartment building common areas or shared-access doors;
- Schools, hospitals, aged-care facilities or similar premises;
- Business premises;
- High-traffic doors; or
- Any other application involving use beyond ordinary private residential use.
Any warranty applying to a commercial or non-residential installation must be separately agreed to by Vault Smart Locks in writing before purchase or installation.
The commercial-use exclusion applies only to Vault Smart Locks’ voluntary manufacturer’s warranty. It does not exclude, restrict or modify any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
Local Warranty Assessments
For lock-related warranty issues within Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth, a $200 warranty assessment holding fee may apply.
The holding fee will be refunded where the issue is assessed and confirmed to be covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.
Non-Local Warranty Assessments
For locations outside the above service areas, a $250 warranty assessment holding fee may apply.
The holding fee will be refunded where the issue is assessed and confirmed to be covered by the manufacturer’s warranty.
For customers in remote locations, Vault Smart Locks may require the product to be returned for assessment.
Where a product is assessed as not being covered by warranty, Vault Smart Locks may, at its discretion, offer a discounted replacement product.
Customers must cooperate with reasonable troubleshooting, inspection and product-return requirements. Failure to return a product when reasonably requested may result in the voluntary warranty claim being closed or a replacement offer being withdrawn.
The complete terms, exclusions and claims process are set out in the Vault Smart Locks Warranty Policy.
Nothing in this section excludes, restricts or modifies any rights available under the Australian Consumer Law.
